This coffee is produced in the Bandung area in the Sunda terroir in western Java and is a blend of Typica, Line S and Catimor.
The Sunda people, culturally very different from the Javanese, attach great importance to their relationship with nature.
This coffee is produced exclusively in the shade of a variety of trees that produce essential oil (pine, eucalyptus, avocado, coral trees).
The combination of spices and red fruits on the palate perfectly reflects the complexity and subtlety of the Indonesian terroir.
CLASSIC BEANS in JAVA
Klasik Beans is a cooperative founded in 2008 by a group of producers in Puntang on the island of Java.
This small cooperative shares a similar philosophy to Belco in terms of quality and respect for people and the environment.
The cooperative aims to contribute to the preservation of Indonesia’s cultural heritage.
Organic, sustainable, fairly traded coffees
Production must comply with good agricultural practices (today
100% organic and grown entirely in the shade).
The Klasik Beans cooperative has been working with almost 200 producers in the region since 2009 to develop these terroir coffees with their distinctive characteristics. The plantations stretch between high mountain forests and rice fields
over the volcanoes Guntur, Halimu, Tilu and Puntang. At each harvest, the cherries are picked by hand and taken to one of the cooperative's three cherry processing sites (Pacet, Ciwidey or Garut). These ensure consistent quality from the coffee bean to the cup.
